School-Based Psychologist – Chesapeake, VA
Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join a full-time school-based assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Compensation Packages
We provide highly competitive pay packages tailored to both local professionals and traveling contractors:
Local Candidates (Chesapeake area)
Pay Range: $52 – $60 per hour
Full-time school-based schedule
Weekly pay via direct deposit
Travel Candidates (open to relocation for the assignment)
Equivalent Pay Range: $67 – $77 per hour
Weekly Take-Home: approximately $1,793 – $2,024
Compensation includes a taxable hourly base, plus tax-free housing and meal stipends
Assistance with relocation and travel coordination provided

School Psychologist Job Duties
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and evaluations for students
Support the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and crisis support as needed
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being
Document services and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Promote positive mental health and safe learning environments within the school community
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
Active Virginia state School Psychologist license or eligibility to obtain prior to start
Strong knowledge of IEP processes and IDEA regulations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to complete background checks and fingerprinting per Virginia district requirements
