School-Based Psychologist – Chesapeake, VA
Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join a full-time school-based assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Both local and travel candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation Packages

We provide highly competitive pay packages tailored to both local professionals and traveling contractors:
Local Candidates (Chesapeake area)

  • Pay Range: $52 – $60 per hour

  • Full-time school-based schedule

  • Weekly pay via direct deposit

Travel Candidates (open to relocation for the assignment)

  • Equivalent Pay Range: $67 – $77 per hour

  • Weekly Take-Home: approximately $1,793 – $2,024

  • Compensation includes a taxable hourly base, plus tax-free housing and meal stipends

  • Assistance with relocation and travel coordination provided

School Psychologist Job Duties

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments and evaluations for students

  • Support the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and crisis support as needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being

  • Document services and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements

  • Promote positive mental health and safe learning environments within the school community

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution

  • Active Virginia state School Psychologist license or eligibility to obtain prior to start

  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and IDEA regulations

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to complete background checks and fingerprinting per Virginia district requirements
