Full-Time School-Based Psychiatrist – Indianapolis, IN (2025-2026 School Year)

Blazer Jobs is currently conducting interviews for a full-time contract opportunity for an experienced Psychiatrist in Indianapolis, IN. This position is school-based and will serve a middle school caseload for the upcoming school year. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for supporting students’ mental health in an educational setting.

Position Details:

• Job Title: School-Based Psychiatrist

• Location: Indianapolis, IN

• Schedule: Full-Time | Contract

• Caseload: Middle school students

• Start Date: New School Year (Exact start date to be confirmed with district)

• Work Setting: Onsite

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for middle school students

• Provide therapeutic support, behavioral interventions, and crisis management

• Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, special education staff, teachers, and families

• Participate in IEP and 504 plan development and meetings as needed

• Monitor treatment plans, track student progress, and make necessary modifications

• Consult on classroom strategies and behavior management plans

• Educate school personnel and parents on mental health topics and best practices

• Maintain all documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active and valid Indiana license to practice as a Psychiatrist

• Must meet all state and district requirements for working in a school setting

• Experience working in school-based or pediatric mental health settings strongly preferred

• Knowledge of special education processes and experience supporting students with disabilities is highly preferred

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
