Job Requirements
Applicants must meet all Texas state requirements to serve as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). This includes:
- Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution
- Valid Texas LSSP license issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Knowledge of psychoeducational assessments and interpretation
- Experience working in school settings is strongly preferred
- Must be reliable and accountable, with a strong commitment to supporting student outcomes
Selected candidates will:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational and achievement assessments
- Interpret assessment results and participate in eligibility determination meetings
- Provide consultation to teachers, parents, and school staff on student learning and behavior
- Assist in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Support students through counseling services, crisis intervention, and social skills training
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
