Step into a dynamic role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing as a Sign Language Interpreter in an engaging educational environment. Your role will focus on providing one-on-one or group interpreting services within the school setting, facilitating interaction between students, teachers, and peers. Youll become a valued partner in delivering accessible education from now through the end of May 2027.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
• Experience working with school-age Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
• Proficient in American Sign Language and familiar with educational interpreting best practices
• Ability to adapt communication styles for various age groups
• Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and collaboration with educational staff
• Must complete FL school district fingerprinting (prior prints through AHCA Clearinghouse may be accepted), plus secure a JLA badge before starting

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken and signed communication in academic and social school settings
• Provide Language modeling and facilitate inclusive participation for DHH students
• Assist with orientation and transition needs within the classroom
• Collaborate closely with teachers, case managers, and related service professionals
• Adapt to both 1:1 and group interpreting demands while maintaining accuracy and integrity in interpreting
