As a skilled Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication and inclusion for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from Pre-K through 8th grade. Key Qualifications:

• Current certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: BEI I or II under the previous certification system, or Basic under the current certification system.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with PK-8 student populations.
• Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
• Successful completion of district-required fingerprinting and background check.
• Flexibility to adapt interpreting styles to student needs and classroom activities.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with staff, students, and multidisciplinary teams.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective American Sign Language interpretation for students and staff throughout the school day.
• Support classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and events involving Deaf or Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to facilitate student learning and inclusion.
• Maintain records of services provided as required.
• Uphold all relevant ethical standards and district protocols.

This full-time position runs from ASAP through May 26, 2027, with interviews scheduled for the last week of October. Only candidates able to work fully on site will be considered.
