Sign Language Interpreter in Cornelia, GA

Step into a vital role supporting student success as a contract Sign Language Interpreter in a high school environment. This full-time, on-site opportunity lets you make a direct impact on a students educational journey by providing consistent interpreting services throughout the school week.

In this position, you will:

• Facilitate communication between a high school student who is deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and school staff
• Accurately interpret classroom instruction, assignments, and all school-related conversations
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure the students full access to educational content and activities
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Adapt interpreting style as needed for different instructional contexts and individual student needs

Qualifications:

• Active Georgia Educational Interpreter/GaPSC Certification
• RID Certification or EIPA score of 3.5 or above
• Experience in a school setting, especially working one-on-one with students, is preferred
• Ability to maintain a regular MondayFriday, 37.5-hour work schedule through May 2027
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
