Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Cottage Grove, Oregon

Step into a vital role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school environment. This is a full-time contract opportunity located near Cottage Grove, OR, serving a consistent group of school buildings primarily in the Eugene area. As part of a team of dedicated DHH educators and classroom staff, youll primarily provide 1:1 interpreting services, facilitating communication and access to learning for individual students. Two positions are available for the upcoming school year, beginning August 24, 2026, and ending June 15, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Completion of interpreter training program
• IEPA score over 3.5
• Valid and current interpreter licensure required
• Experience in an educational setting preferred
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
• Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently
• No virtual interpreting (on-site only)

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, effective sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers
• Support DHH students in classroom and school-related activities
• Adapt interpreting strategies to address individual communication modes and student needs
• Collaborate closely with classroom teams to ensure strong support for students
• Maintain documentation as required by school district policies
