Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Sign Language Interpreter (SLI/ASL Interpreter) to provide interpreting services for students in K–12 settings for the 2025–2026 school year in Fresno, CA. The interpreter will play a vital role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and school staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services using American Sign Language (ASL) in educational settings
• Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, and other relevant communications
• Support student participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure appropriate access to instruction
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Adapt interpreting techniques based on student needs and educational context

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Valid certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience in an educational setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and needs

Contract Details:

• Full-time or part-time opportunities available
• 2025–2026 school year
• Hourly pay: $50–$55 based on experience
