Blazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support a public school district in the Fresno, CA area. This full-time role is open to both local interpreters and travel professionals looking to make a difference by ensuring communication equity in K–12 educational settings.
Position Overview:
The SLI will provide interpretation services to deaf and hard-of-hearing students, facilitating communication in academic and social environments. The interpreter will work collaboratively with general and special education staff to support student success in inclusive classroom settings.
Employment Options:
1. Local W-2 Employment through Blazer Jobs:
Full school-year assignment
Weekly pay: $34–$40/hour, based on experience and certification
Full medical, dental, and vision coverage

2. Travel W-2 Contract:
Weekly gross: $1,900–$2,200+ (including stipends for qualified travelers)
Housing, meal, and relocation stipends available
Weekly pay: $40–$46+/hour, based on experience and travel status
Support with credentialing, onboarding, and relocation
Key Responsibilities:
Provide real-time interpretation using American Sign Language (ASL) in a variety of school-based settings
Support students’ access to academic content, social communication, and school functions
Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
Comply with IEP accommodations and district interpreting standards
Maintain confidentiality and uphold RID ethical guidelines
Qualifications:
Valid California credential or authorization to work as an Educational Interpreter
Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 (required)
RID certification (NIC, CI/CT) preferred but not mandatory
Prior school-based experience highly valued
Must complete required background and fingerprint clearance
