Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI/ASL Interpreter) for a full-time, school-based position in Harvey, LA for the 2025–2026 school year.

Typical Job Duties:

• Provide interpretation services between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school communications

• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure effective communication access

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreting standards

• Assist in the preparation of materials as needed

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)

• Valid national certification (such as EIPA score of 3.5+ or RID/NIC certification)

• Compliance with Louisiana state requirements for educational interpreters

• Fluency in ASL and English

• Previous experience in a school setting preferred
