Blazer Jobs is currently hiring a School-Based Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time role in Harvey, Louisiana for the 2025–2026 school year.

This position plays a vital role in supporting communication and equal access to instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. At Blazer Jobs, we stand behind professionals who make a lasting impact, working to make life better for those who make lives better.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and extracurricular activities using ASL

• Facilitate communication between students, peers, and staff

• Support inclusion of Deaf students in general education settings

• Participate in educational meetings and planning sessions as needed

• Adhere to ethical standards and promote cultural sensitivity

Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher or Louisiana BESE-approved certification

• Fluency in ASL and strong understanding of educational interpreting practices

• Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and parents

• Must meet all Louisiana and federal qualifications for educational interpreters
