Qualifications:

• EPIA (Educational Performance Interpreter Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher required
• Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience serving as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings preferred
• Familiarity with IEPs and supporting students with diverse communication needs
• Ability to collaborate with educators, students, and families
• Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, staff, and families
• Support access to classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities
• Collaborate closely with teachers and team members to meet students' communication needs
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional codes of conduct
• Adjust interpreting to fit the instructional content and age level of students
• Participate in IEP meetings, workshops, and ongoing training as needed
