Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Hickman, NE

Step into a rewarding contract position serving elementary-aged students as a Sign Language Interpreter. This onsite opportunity, located near Hickman, NE, begins as soon as possible and extends through May 20, 2027. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language, with documented experience supporting students in educational settings
• Holds a minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
• Previous experience as a K-12 or elementary-level sign language interpreter preferred
• Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting practices
• Reliable and punctual with excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpretation for elementary-level students and staff throughout the school day
• Foster access to curriculum, activities, and school events for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to support student learning goals
• Maintain cultural sensitivity and adapt communication methods as needed for student success
• Uphold ethical standards and respect student privacy and classroom dynamics

This position is full-time with hours from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, ensuring consistent involvement in daily school life within a supportive district. The role is onsite only, offering direct engagement with the educational community and meaningful interaction with students.
