Full Time School Sign Language Interpreter Needed

Now Hiring: Contracted Sign Language Interpreter – Huntsville, AL

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Contracted Sign Language Interpreter to join our partner school district in Huntsville, Alabama.

Position Details:

• Provide 1:1 and small group interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL)

• Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and other educational activities

• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure student inclusion and comprehension

• Full-time

• Onsite

• Caseload details will be discussed at the time of the interview directly with the district

Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• Valid Alabama Interpreter Licensure through the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators (ALBIT)

• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher (or RID/NIC certification)

• Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
