Sign Language Interpreter Full Time Role

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Contracted Sign Language Interpreter to join our district in Kansas City, KS.

Position Details:

• Provide 1:1 and small group interpreting services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL)

• Support student access to curriculum, classroom activities, and school functions

• Collaborate with educators and special education teams to implement IEP goals and accommodations

• Full time

• Onsite

• Caseload details will be discussed at the time of the interview directly with the district

Requirements:

• Hold a valid Kansas Interpreter License through the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) or meet EIPA 3.5+ requirements for educational interpreters

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in interpreting preferred

• Proficiency in ASL and knowledge of Deaf culture

• Previous experience in educational settings preferred
