Sign Language Interpreter in Lehigh Acres, FL

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This on-site contract position offers the opportunity to work at a single school location near Lehigh Acres, FL, providing interpretive services for students in both 1:1 and group settings. Your role will contribute directly to student access, inclusion, and academic success.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Hold a 3.0 or higher EIPA score (required)
• Experience interpreting for DHH students in educational environments
• Comfortable working across different age groups (elementary, middle, and high school)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
• Willingness and eligibility to complete required fingerprinting. If youve previously been fingerprinted for a Florida school district, your status may transfer via the AHCA Clearinghouse.
• Strong commitment to professional standards and confidentiality

Role Highlights:

• Provide direct interpretive services for DHH students as assigned
• Support academic participation and social interaction in classrooms and school activities
• Work closely with educators, related service providers, and families to support student goals

The assignment is full-time (up to 37.5 hours per week) and is available through the end of the school year. Placement is on-site only, and you must be able to commute daily to the assigned school.
