Elementary School Seeking One on One Sign Language Interpreter

Blazer Jobs is hiring an experienced Sign Language Interpreter for a full-time, one-on-one assignment with an elementary student in Lillington, North Carolina. This rewarding role ensures access to instruction and communication in a supportive school environment.

Position Details:

• Full-time

• One-on-one with elementary student

• School-based

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for classroom lessons, interactions, and school events

• Facilitate understanding and communication for the student throughout the school day

• Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement educational plans

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

• Monitor and support the student’s engagement and participation

Requirements:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)

• Valid certification or licensure from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) as a Sign Language Interpreter

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• One or more years of interpreting experience in a school or youth-focused setting
