Full Time School Based Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) - Lillington, NC

A dedicated school district in Lillington, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide communication access and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities:

• Convert spoken language into ASL and vice versa

• Interpret across diverse settings such as classrooms, meetings, and assemblies

• Foster communication between students and educational staff

• Collaborate with teachers to implement learning strategies

• Support students in achieving academic goals

• Maintain confidentiality and documentation of services

Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Deaf Studies, or related field

• Completion of a formal interpreter training program

• North Carolina interpreter certification or eligibility

• Strong understanding of deaf culture and educational settings
