Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Lincoln, Nebraska

The position runs from ASAP through May 20, 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials with proficiency in American Sign Language
• Possess an EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
• Experience supporting students in educational settings, ideally at the elementary level
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics
• Adaptability and enthusiasm for supporting diverse learners
• Must be comfortable and effective working onsite throughout the assignment

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between students and staff
• Facilitate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Support the academic and social development of students
• Collaborate with educational teams to promote accessibility and inclusion
• Maintain accurate records as required by the school
• Participate in IEP meetings and other planning sessions as needed
• Contribute to a positive, supportive classroom environment
