We are seeking a dedicated School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, onsite role working with a K–12 caseload, supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accessing quality education and social connection.

Caseload: K–12 students
Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite
Contract: 2025–2026 School Year
Key Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) in classroom and school settings
Support communication between students, teachers, parents, and staff
Interpret a variety of academic and extracurricular content across grade levels
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical interpreting standards
Collaborate with educational teams to support individualized student needs
Assist with cultural and linguistic mediation to foster student inclusion
Requirements:
Certification by EIPA, RID, or equivalent (minimum score of 3.5 if EIPA)
Proficiency in American Sign Language and spoken English
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience working with children in educational settings is a plus
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
