About the Opportunity: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Virtual Educational Interpreter to provide crucial support to students. This remote role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a student's academic and social development from anywhere.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert ASL-English interpretation and tutoring support in academic skills, communication skills, and ASL-English interpretation consumer skills through modeling and direct virtual instruction.
Participate in state testing as a remote test administrator for students with modifications and/or accommodations.
Adhere to the state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and uphold all relevant rules, policies, and regulations.
Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure seamless virtual learning for students.
Qualifications:
Required: Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment - EIPA Score of 3.5+
Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
Knowledge of ASL CIA guidelines and experience working with ASL heritage students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Reliable internet connection and appropriate technical setup for high-quality virtual interpretation.
