Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter - School Setting - Full Time - 2025/2026 School Year!

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team near Shreveport, LA. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and the school. Your expertise will create an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring that students have equal access to education and social interactions. Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction, meetings, events, and extracurricular activities.
• Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, peers, and other individuals within the school community.
• Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure effective inclusion and participation of students in academic and social activities.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with hearing impairments, promoting their independence and self-advocacy skills.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress.
• Attend professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification recognized by the Louisiana Board of
• Examiners for Interpreters (BEI certification or equivalent preferred)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• EIPA or RID cert preferred
