Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Statesville, North Carolina

Step into a rewarding role where your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter directly support student success! This contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering you a consistent Monday through Friday schedule totaling 35 hours each week. Each day begins at 7:00am and wraps up at 2:30pm, ensuring youre on-site and fully prepared to assist ahead of student arrival.

Youll work with a focused caseload at the elementary level, providing one-on-one interpretive services for students who rely on your expertise. This important position is onsite only, allowing for immersive support within the school environmentno virtual work is available for this role.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• EIPA score of 3.5 or above, or RID certification (either credential is acceptable)
• Previous experience in K-12 or education settings preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit

Daily Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language
• Support instruction, classroom activities, and student participation
• Arrive and set up ahead of student entry to ensure readiness
• Work closely with educational staff and families to ensure effective communication
• Foster an inclusive environment for students with hearing differences
