Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) | Kindergarten Support

Blazer Jobs is proud to partner with the Yelm, WA school district to recruit a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time, onsite position for the upcoming school year. Position Details:

• Location: Yelm, Washington

• Caseload: 1:1 Kindergarten student

• Schedule: Full-Time, 6.5 hours per day

• Setting: Onsite

• Start Date: Upcoming 2025–2026 school year

• Contract: Renewal possible based on performance and district needs

• Pay Range: $39–$44 per hour (based on experience)

Daily Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) in a classroom setting

• Ensure clear and accurate communication between the student, teachers, and peers

• Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to support academic and social goals

• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all settings

• Adapt interpretation style to meet the student’s language needs and learning pace

State Requirements (Washington):

• Must possess one of the following:

  • EIPA Performance score of 4.0 or higher and have passed the EIPA Written Test

  • RID Certification and have passed the EIPA Written Test

• Must meet all state and district credentialing requirements

• School-based experience preferred

Candidates who do not meet requirements will not be considered.
