Job Posting: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Overview:
Alvin Independent School District (Alvin ISD) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. This school-based position serves students across K–12 grade levels. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their communication goals and committed to supporting their academic success through high-quality therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, language, fluency, or voice disorders.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement strategies to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA).
- ASHA Certification Preferred (CCC-SLP) or ASHA Clinical Fellowship Intern (CFY).
- Ability to use accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions.
- Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions.
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- One year supervised clinical speech-language pathology experience preferred.
