Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:
Hold a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
Possess an active Alabama Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA)
Hold a current Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with a Speech or Language Impairments endorsement (P-12) issued by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE)
Must have prior experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school-based setting
Must successfully complete a background check and fingerprinting through the Alabama State Department of Education
Meet all local and state requirements, including tuberculosis (TB) testing and compliance with any additional district-specific onboarding procedures
Applicants who do not meet the outlined requirements will not be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
Typical duties for this position may include:
Conducting assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
Providing direct therapy services to students individually and in group settings
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress
Participating in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
