Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists for a full-time position with school districts in the Chicago, IL area. This role offers the opportunity to support students’ communication development and contribute to their long-term academic and social success.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet all state and local requirements to apply, including:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

  • Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or eligibility/clinical fellowship under supervision

  • Completion of required background checks and fingerprinting per district and state guidelines

  • Prior experience working with school-aged children preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations, screenings, and assessments to identify students’ speech, language, and communication needs

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff

  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings

  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare required reports

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success

  • Educate and support teachers, staff, and families in understanding students’ communication goals

  • Stay current with best practices and state/federal guidelines in speech-language pathology
