School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Dumfries, Virginia

Make a meaningful impact in students lives by providing Speech-Language Pathology services within a dynamic educational environment in the Washington DC area, approximately 45 minutes south of the city. This contract role runs from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours each week throughout a 185-day academic year.

Assignments across elementary, middle, and high school campuses are available. Youll collaborate with a dedicated team to serve students of diverse age groups, delivering comprehensive speech and language interventions that support educational goals.

Key Qualifications

• Current and active Speech-Language Pathologist licensure for Virginia
• Previous experience in school-based SLP roles is advantageous
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with educators and families
• Ability to manage a flexible caseload and work with all age groups
• Must be able to work on-site; remote or hybrid options are not available
• Must initiate VA Dept. of Social Services background check and provide proof of a current TB test prior to start

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide therapy aligning with IEP goals
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams
• Engage and inform parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress and strategies for support
• Adapt and tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each student population
