Make a meaningful impact supporting students in multiple elementary school settings around Ellicott City as a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2023-2024 academic year. These long-term substitute opportunities are contract positions with full-time schedules, placing SLPs in dynamic environments where youll collaborate with educators, serve diverse caseloads, and help students reach their communication goals.

Current assignments are available at the following locations:

  • Waverly Elementary: General education students and some regional support. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) experience is a plus.
  • Veterans Elementary: Focus on early childhood caseloads.
  • Deep Run Elementary: Primarily K5 students.
  • Atholton/Phelps Luck Elementary (split): Support two schools with elementary-aged caseloads.

Schedules are 5 days per week, 37.5 hours weekly, with roles starting immediately or in mid-November and continuing through mid-February, with the potential to extend through the end of the school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Active Maryland SLP license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • School-based SLP experience is highly valued; Clinical Fellows (CFY) considered.
  • Experience supporting diverse student populations, including AAC (preferred for certain sites).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for students with communication challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and IEP teams to develop individualized speech and language goals.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines.
  • Adjust interventions based on student progress and interdisciplinary feedback.
