Now Hiring: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Greater Houston, TX

Blazer Jobs is now hiring licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for multiple school-based roles across the Houston metro area. Whether you’re based in central Houston, the suburbs, or you're open to commuting within the region, we have opportunities to match your preferences.

Known for its diversity, arts, food scene, and family-friendly communities, Houston offers big-city living with plenty of charm. These full-time roles allow you to make a lasting impact in a school environment while enjoying professional support and scheduling flexibility.

Position Details:

  • Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

  • Setting: School-based (K–12; placements vary by district)

  • Location: Greater Houston area (flexible district options available)

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday

  • Start Date: 2025–2026 School Year

  • Pay: Starting at $48/hour, depending on experience and district

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting speech-language assessments and re-evaluations

  • Writing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Providing direct therapy services and tracking student progress

  • Supporting students with a range of communication needs, including articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, and AAC

  • Collaborating with general and special education staff

  • Participating in IEP meetings and compliance documentation

Why Consider Contracting?

Contracting offers school-based clinicians an ideal blend of freedom and structure. With Blazer Jobs, your work is supported by a recruiter who advocates for you while giving you room to manage your caseload with autonomy. We take care of licensing paperwork, district onboarding, and compensation—so you can focus on helping students grow.

Contract roles are especially ideal for SLPs who:

  • Want the ability to choose their location or school setting

  • Enjoy planning their own caseload and therapy schedule

  • Value transparency and consistency in pay and expectations

  • Are open to multiple school districts within the Houston metro area

  • Are completing or preparing for their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) with supervision provided

Why the School Setting?

School-based SLPs enjoy the opportunity to work closely with children and adolescents over the course of a full school year. It’s a setting that offers variety, collaboration, and the ability to structure your own sessions. You’ll partner with teachers, special educators, and administrators, all working toward student success.

School Hiring Doesn’t Stop After Summer

While many positions are filled before the school year begins, SLP school jobs often continue opening throughout the year due to enrollment changes, maternity leaves, and funding shifts. Even if you’re not ready to start immediately, it's never too early—or too late—to start the conversation.

Blazer Jobs Offers:

  • Weekly pay with direct deposit

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • Clinical support for SLP-CFYs and early-career clinicians

  • Relocation support or travel stipends (if applicable)

  • One-on-one support from a recruiter who understands school-based roles
