Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties
Conduct evaluations and provide therapy for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to support student communication goals
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
Provide support and resources to staff and families on communication strategies
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Federal and State Requirements
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current Texas SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required (or CFY under supervision)
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Texas school districts
