Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Jersey City, NJ

Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist in the thriving Jersey City, NJ area. Two distinct roles are availableone with a short-term assignment and another spanning several months. Both offer a chance to support students communication needs while working alongside dedicated educational professionals. There may also be potential for these assignments to be combined for a longer-term placement as the school year progresses.

Ideal Qualifications & Experience:

• Active New Jersey SLP license
• SLP-CCC strongly preferred; strong clinical fellows may be considered (supervision not provided by district)
• Demonstrated experience in pediatric and special education settings
• Skilled in IEP development and participation in meetings
• School-based SLP experience highly valued
• Ability to manage diverse caseloads and adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs

Assignment Details:

Role A:

• Start ASAP; approx. 34 week assignment (through mid-November)
• Serve a caseload of 53 students, K-4, including ESLS and those in ICR classrooms
• Locations: multiple school sites within easy reach

Role B:

• Start late October; assignment runs through mid-February
• Caseload specifics to be discussed during the interview
• Single-site assignment, fostering consistency and connection

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct student assessments and craft individualized communication goals
• Deliver therapy sessions both individually and in groups
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families
• Accurately document student progress and maintain compliance with IEPs
