School Speech Language Pathologist - Portales, New Mexico

Make a positive impact in the educational setting by providing essential speech-language therapy services to students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This full-time, on-site opportunity spans multiple school sites in the vibrant Portales, NM area, with consistent hours and a dynamic, itinerant caseload. You'll be stepping into a supportive atmosphere where your expertise will directly influence student growth and communication skills throughout the academic year.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Active New Mexico SLP license required
• Experience delivering SLP services in school settings preferred
• Flexibility to serve a range of ages and needs as populations will be determined prior to assignment
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to travel between multiple school sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders for students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with educational teams and families
• Provide direct therapy across an itinerant caseload and adapt intervention strategies to students diverse needs
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Educate staff and caregivers about student supports, strategies, and progress
• Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in school-based speech-language pathology
