School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Silver Spring, Maryland

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting students in a vibrant educational community near Silver Spring, MD. This long-term substitute assignment is available for several elementary schools, offering a variety of age groups and unique caseloads. Whether you bring expertise in AAC, early childhood language development, or K5 interventions, your impact will be felt across dedicated teams and thriving student populations.

Opportunities are available in the following settings:

• Waverly Elementary School: General education with some regional program support. AAC experience is a plus.
• Veterans Elementary School: Focus on Early Childhood caseloads.
• Deep Run Elementary School: Primarily serving K5 students.
• Atholton Elementary / Phelps Luck Elementary: Split between both sites, providing diverse experience.

All schedules are 5 days per week (37.5 hours), with assignments beginning either immediately or in mid-November and running through mid-February, with the possibility of extending through the end of the academic year.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Active Maryland SLP license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
• Experience in school-based settings, with knowledge of IEP processes and effective collaboration with educational teams
• AAC device familiarity is strongly preferred for certain caseloads
• Commitment to providing high-quality, student-centered speech and language services
• Ability to thrive within onsite roles

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct therapy to students in individual and group sessions
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with educators and families
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Document progress and recommendations
