Contract School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Birmingham, AL

Are you a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in a supportive school environment? We are seeking a highly motivated SLP to join our team for the upcoming school year in vibrant Birmingham, Alabama!

Location: Birmingham, AL Discipline: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Dates: August 1, 2025 – May 22, 2026 Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Caseload/Details: We have two exciting positions available, offering diverse experiences:

  • Position 1: Elementary Caseload - Work with a dynamic group of elementary students, addressing a variety of speech and language needs.
  • Position 2: Primary Caseload - Focus on early intervention and development with our youngest learners (5 days per week).

Responsibilities/Job Duties: As a School-Based SLP, your essential duties will include:

  • Conducting screenings and comprehensive evaluations to identify speech and language disorders.
  • Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Providing direct and indirect speech and language therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school staff to support student communication goals.
  • Monitoring student progress, collecting data, and adjusting therapy plans as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant documentation, including therapy logs and Medicaid billing (as applicable).
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions.

Special Requirements:

  • Active Alabama SLP licensure (CCCs or CF licensure) is required.
  • An Alabama Teaching Certificate is also required for this school-based role.

Compensation: We offer a competitive hourly rate of $40-$50 based on experience for this contract licensed school-based professional position.
