Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a school district in Atchison, KS for the upcoming school year. This role involves working closely with licensed SLPs to provide speech and language services to students across a variety of school settings. The SLPA will help carry out therapy plans, assist with progress monitoring, and play a key role in supporting students' communication development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech-language services under the guidance of supervising SLPs.

• Travel between multiple school buildings, including early childhood programs and private/parochial schools, as needed.

• Serve a diverse caseload, primarily at the elementary level, with some students ranging from preschool through high school.

• Assist in conducting screenings, collecting data, and maintaining detailed records of student progress.

• Collaborate with educators and staff to align therapy strategies with classroom activities.

• Help create and adapt therapy materials to meet students' individual needs.

• Participate in team meetings and support IEP implementation efforts.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences, or a related field.

• Active SLPA certification in Kansas or eligibility to obtain it.

• Experience in a school or pediatric setting is a plus.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Ability to manage a dynamic schedule and travel between school sites.

• A genuine interest in helping students grow in their speech and language skills.

Work Setting:
The main office space for this position will be located at Atchison Elementary School, with regular travel to other buildings as needed.
