Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a part-time position with a school district in the Blountsville, AL area. This role supports PreK–6th grade students, with a primary focus on younger learners, helping them develop essential speech and language skills in a collaborative educational environment.

Position Highlights:

  • Schedule: Part-time

  • Grade Levels: PreK–6 (primarily early childhood)

  • Setting: School-based, working under the supervision of a licensed SLP

State & Local Requirements:
Applicants must meet Alabama standards for SLPA practice, including:

  • Current Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) SLPA license

  • Completion of an associate’s degree in SLPA or an equivalent program recognized by ABESPA

  • Documented supervised clinical fieldwork experience

  • Familiarity with ASHA and ABESPA guidelines for SLPA scope of practice

  • Successful completion of district and state background checks

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy activities to students under SLP supervision

  • Assist in preparing and adapting therapy materials

  • Document and track student progress toward communication goals

  • Support collaboration between SLPs, educators, and families

  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with school district policies
