Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a part-time position with a school district in the Blountsville, AL area. This role supports PreK–6th grade students, with a primary focus on younger learners, helping them develop essential speech and language skills in a collaborative educational environment.
Position Highlights:
Schedule: Part-time
Grade Levels: PreK–6 (primarily early childhood)
Setting: School-based, working under the supervision of a licensed SLP
State & Local Requirements:
Applicants must meet Alabama standards for SLPA practice, including:
Current Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) SLPA license
Completion of an associate’s degree in SLPA or an equivalent program recognized by ABESPA
Documented supervised clinical fieldwork experience
Familiarity with ASHA and ABESPA guidelines for SLPA scope of practice
Successful completion of district and state background checks
Typical Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy activities to students under SLP supervision
Assist in preparing and adapting therapy materials
Document and track student progress toward communication goals
Support collaboration between SLPs, educators, and families
Maintain accurate records in compliance with school district policies
