Position Overview:
We are hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide school-based support services to students in grades K–12 throughout Chicago, IL, for the 2025–2026 academic year. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will deliver therapy, assist with documentation, and help implement individualized treatment plans that support student communication needs and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech-language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans
Support the collection of data on student performance and progress toward goals
Prepare therapy materials and maintain a well-organized therapy space
Document student performance and maintain accurate service records in compliance with district and legal standards
Collaborate with the supervising SLP, teachers, and school staff to meet student communication needs
Promote generalization of skills across classroom and home environments
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited SLPA program
Valid Illinois SLPA license or eligibility to obtain prior to the start of the school year
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting
