Desired Qualifications:

  • Active SLPA license and eligibility to work in Texas schools
  • Previous school-based SLPA experience, especially with middle and high school students (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with AAC devices (a plus)
  • Willingness to float between one or two schools based on assignment
  • Full-time availability (37.5 hours/week); part-time considered (30+ hours)
  • State fingerprinting and background check completed before start date
  • Must disclose previous Lamar employment and any school district termination history (affidavit required)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support secondary school students (grades 612) with speech and language services as assigned
  • Manage a diverse caseload of 80-90 students, with flexibility based on skill level and experience
  • Employ AAC devices in therapeutic interventions as appropriate
  • Document services, progress, and outcomes per school policies
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Adapt to varying assignments across (primarily) one or two school sites
