School-Based Social Worker - Burnsville, Minnesota

Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a transitional education setting as a School Social Worker specializing in Special Education. This contract position is based at a technical college in the Rosemount, MN area, where you'll play a key role within the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program (TESA). The role follows a consistent weekday schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., aligning with the assigned school calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the possibility of contract renewal.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid licensure or certification as a school social worker in Minnesota
• Prior experience working with school-aged children, especially those in special education settings
• Strong understanding of educational services, social-emotional learning, and student advocacy
• Excellent communication, crisis intervention, and collaboration skills
• Ability to effectively manage case loads, multitask, and maintain accurate documentation
• Passion for supporting students as they transition to new educational environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services to students enrolled in the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program
• Collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct support in areas such as social skills development, behavioral interventions, and emotional regulation
• Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
• Act as a key resource in crisis management and conflict resolution
• Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to student assessment processes
