We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker to join our team in the Norfolk & Virginia Beach, VA area. The ideal candidate will support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring a safe, supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Conduct assessments and create intervention plans to support student success
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community agencies to coordinate services
- Respond to crisis situations and help develop safety and support plans
- Participate in IEP and 504 plan meetings as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all legal and ethical standards
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current Virginia licensure (LCSW, LMSW, or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience working in a school setting strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development, mental health, and trauma-informed practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
