Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois School Social Worker (IL SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) are required
• Previous experience serving as a school social worker is necessary
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and child development
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and external partners

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and social-emotional support to students in grades K-5
• Address behavioral, emotional, and academic needs through individual and group interventions
• Develop and implement individualized plans and positive behavioral supports
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to promote student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and assist with special education evaluations, as needed
• Facilitate referrals to community agencies and resources
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school climate
