School Social Worker - Grand Blanc, MI

Make a meaningful difference in students lives as a contract School Social Worker, supporting young learners in a dynamic elementary environment. This position begins at the start of November 2026 and continues through December 2026, covering a maternity leave. Youll collaborate with passionate educators while offering specialized care to help students succeed academically and socially.

What Youll Bring:

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Active Michigan School Social Worker certification (310 letter)
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
• Compassion, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity to support diverse student populations
• Experience with IEPs and special education processes is highly desirable

What Youll Do:

• Serve elementary students across two supportive schools, managing a manageable caseload
• Assess student needs and provide counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals as appropriate
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to address students social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
• Develop and implement intervention strategies, participate in IEP meetings, and document services delivered
• Respond to emerging student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster positive learning environments
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with school district policies
