School-Based Social Worker – Full-Time Contract

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and qualified School-Based Social Workers for a full-time contract position with a partner school district in Kansas City, Missouri. This role plays a critical part in supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development, especially within special education settings.
Position Overview:
The School Social Worker will work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and support staff to ensure students receive the resources and services they need to succeed academically and personally. Renewal opportunities may be offered based on performance and district needs.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet all Missouri state and local requirements, including:
Valid Missouri School Social Worker Certification (issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education)
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
State licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Completion of Missouri background check and fingerprint clearance
At least one year of experience in a school or special education setting is highly preferred
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Providing individual and group counseling to students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Developing and implementing behavioral intervention strategies
Collaborating with IEP teams, school staff, and families to support student success
Assisting families in accessing community resources and support services
Conducting social-emotional assessments and participating in eligibility evaluations
Promoting positive school climate and student engagement initiatives
