School-Based Social Worker - Lapeer, Michigan

Key Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university
• Fully licensed as a Social Worker (LARA license) or MSW Limited License
• Holds one of the following: Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP)
• MDE SW Approval and official university transcripts required
• Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in special education settings, is highly desirable
• Flexibility to work across elementary (K-6), middle (7-8), or high school (9-12) settings, based on preference and availability
• Onsite work is preferred, though experienced candidates with strong skills may be considered for remote/virtual (VOCO) options

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work intervention and support to students in small groups, moderate group settings, and one-on-one environments
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and special education staff to develop and implement behavioral and emotional support plans
• Maintain thorough, confidential documentation and case management records
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized student planning
