Social Worker | Lowell, Michigan

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled school social worker to serve two elementary schools and a preschool classroom in the greater Lowell, MI area. This role runs from late August through mid-May, supporting approximately 40 students with diverse needs ranging from academic challenges to social and emotional development.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker (required)
• Experience working in elementary and/or preschool educational environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration with families, teachers, and administration
• Demonstrated ability to implement effective strategies for supporting students' emotional and behavioral growth
• Able to manage a caseload across multiple school sites confidently and compassionately

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to students in two elementary buildings and a preschool classroom
• Develop and implement personalized student support plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff
• Engage families as partners in promoting student success and well-being
• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing counseling as needed
• Maintain thorough, confidential documentation in compliance with school and legal standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of holistic educational programs
