School Social Worker | Mat. Leave Coverage

Blazer Jobs is partnering with a dedicated school district in Middletown, CT to hire a passionate and qualified School Social Worker for the upcoming school year. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity covering the first semester, with potential renewal for the remainder of the school year and beyond, based on performance and district needs.

This position involves working across multiple school sites with a K-8 student population. You’ll be providing direct support and interventions to students, collaborating with teachers and administrators, and acting as a vital liaison between school, home, and community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group counseling to students

• Address issues such as behavior, attendance, social/emotional concerns, and crisis intervention

• Collaborate with families, school staff, and outside agencies to support student success

• Support IEP and 504 Plan development and implementation

• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Requirements (State of Connecticut):

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)

• Active CT Department of Education School Social Worker certification (Endorsement 071)

• Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
