Blazer Jobs is seeking a full-time Social Worker / Intervention Therapist to provide evidence-based mental health and counseling services for students. This role involves supporting students individually and in group settings, assisting with crisis intervention, and collaborating closely with school staff to improve student outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide individual and/or group mental health counseling to identified students.
Utilize effective verbal de-escalation techniques during crises, including TEACH methods for handling adolescents and children.
Prepare IEP sections, collect data, and monitor student progress.
Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support student success.
Develop and implement mental health appraisals and plans based on psycho/social/behavioral functioning.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling (Psychologists not accepted).
Florida DOE certification in social work OR licensed clinical social worker OR licensed mental health provider (Chapter 491, F.S.).
Candidates with a master’s degree must register as a Mental Health Counselor Intern within 6 months of hire, work under supervision by a Qualified Supervisor, and obtain clinical licensure within 3 years.
Minimum of two years’ experience working with children and families.
Ability to develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
