Hourly Pay: $42–$47/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker to join our team and support the academic, social, and emotional success of K–12 students in New Orleans, LA, during the 2025–2026 school year. The Social Worker will serve as a vital link between the school, home, and community to help students overcome barriers to learning and promote a positive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
Assess student needs and develop appropriate support strategies, including crisis intervention when necessary
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop behavior and support plans that address student challenges
Conduct risk assessments and support students in crisis in alignment with district safety protocols
Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community agencies to coordinate services for students and families
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and assist in the development of student support and intervention plans
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
Promote equity, inclusiveness, and mental health awareness within the school community
Support positive school culture and advocate for the well-being of all students
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
Valid Louisiana license (LMSW or LCSW)
Experience working with school-aged children and families in an educational or mental health setting
Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive situations with professionalism
