Job Posting: School Social Worker
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

Grade Levels: K–12
Compensation: $42–$47 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker to join our team for the 2025–2026 academic year in New Orleans, LA. This role supports students across K–12 grade levels and plays a critical role in promoting student well-being, academic success, and social-emotional development through targeted support and intervention services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Assess student needs and develop intervention plans in collaboration with families and school staff
- Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
- Support crisis intervention and prevention efforts
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP/504 plans as needed
- Advocate for students and help remove barriers to learning
- Maintain detailed and confidential documentation of services provided
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Louisiana licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Previous experience in a K–12 school setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive care
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school staff
Contract Details:
- Full-time or part-time options available
- 2025–2026 school year
- Hourly pay: $42–$47 based on experience
